SPARRENBURG
The town landmark which greets you when you reach the city center is the Sparrenburg. This is an old restored fortress built in the 16th and 19th century. It is situated on the 180m high Sparrenburg with a 60m high tower. There is a nice restaurant placed inside the main building and the historic cellar can be visited during the summer season.
GALLERIES & MUSEUMS
If you are interested in cultural activities, it is a good idea to make a quick visit to the City Art Gallery (Kunstmuseum), where regularly changing exhibits take place. If you want to learn more about Bielefeld and its history of linen and pudding manufacturing, you can also visit the Historic Museum of Bielefeld (Historisches Museum).
GARDENS
If you are searching for a relaxing leisure opportunity, we suggest you spend some time in the botanical garden and the Tierpark Olderdissen zoo, which are only 3 km from the city center. Alternatively, you can also go on a walk through the Teutoburg Forest.

If you are interested in tennis or if you stay in Halle during June, you have the unique chance to visit the Terra Wortmann Open international lawn tennis tournament. Ticket center located at: Sportpark, Gausekampweg 2, Halle/Westfield.
